Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, to parents of Chinese Malaysian Hakka descent, I inherited an opportunistic spirit from a young age. After graduating from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Commerce, I pursued a Master’s in Audiology, practicing in rural parts of the country for five years. In March 2021, I founded StoryBites, New Zealand’s rapidly growing digital food network. With a focus on celebrating local producers, chefs, and restaurateurs, our team of seven is deployed across the country to facilitate relationships, film documentaries, and distribute narrative pieces to our dedicated following of 65,000 on Instagram, YouTube, and Spotify. The greatest privilege is not transactional but fostered through relational compassion. It is only with the support of incredible volunteers and brand sponsors that we are able to do what we do at no cost to the talented chefs we work with. We are excited to continue growing this network into Australia this year with scheduled projects in Indonesia, China, and France. | |
